During that time, 248 properties were sold subject to contract. A breakdown of the sales is as follows:
Up to £100,000 –101 properties.
£100,001 – £200,000 – 114 properties
£200,000 – £300,000 – 23 properties
£300,001 – £500,000 – 10 properties.
Over £500,001 – 0
Properties with an asking price up to £200,000 were the most popular sale price. They accounted for 215 of the total sales (248).
Barnsley has a diverse breakdown of house types. In November, the most popular house type sales were as follows:
Semi-detached – 68 sales (27%)
Terraced/townhouse – 113 sales (46%)
Detached – 33 sales (13%)
Bungalows – 20 sales (8%)
Flats – 10 sales (4%)
Other – 4 sales (2%)

S71 – 46 sales
S72 – 34 sales
S73 – 26 sales
S74 – 16 sales
S75 – 63 Sales
The total sales for November (248) were very similar to those in October (268). This is extremely positive as the market usually starts to slow down at this time due mainly to the festive period. 316 new properties were put on the market in November.
According to Zoopla, Barnsley has seen an average house price increase of £85 (0.06%) over the last 12 months. The average sale price, according to Zoopla, is now £148,438. That is up from £147,172 for the previous 12 months leading up to October 2019.
